About Samuel Keith Edwards

Wood turning lathe in Keithturnings workshop

With almost 40 years of experience in woodworking, I possess a wide range of skills that enable me to turn virtually any type of wood into a masterpiece.

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, I have lived in various parts of the world, including Miami and now the UK, where I have honed my craft by learning new techniques and approaches.

I have a genuine fascination with wood and find great joy in revealing the beauty that lies within each piece. The unique grain patterns of every type of wood give each item I create its own distinct character, making it truly one of a kind. I take pride in the fact that each piece of my work carries a unique “fingerprint” that sets it apart from anything else.

One of my most memorable projects involved reclaiming a large piece of oak beam from a 500-year-old house. This particular oak was likely thousands of years old and had been discarded on a building site. I was able to recover the wood and breathe new life into it by creating several bespoke pieces of furniture, each of which showcases the natural beauty and rich history of this ancient material.

I am passionate about my work and take great pride in every piece that I create. Whether it’s a lamp, a salt shaker, or a larger piece of furniture, I approach each project with the same level of care, attention to detail, and enthusiasm that has fueled my love of woodworking for almost four decades.
